DefenceLens

Terms of service

Last updated: 7 July 2026

These terms govern your use of defencelens.co.uk (“DefenceLens”, the “service”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

The service

DefenceLens is a market intelligence service that aggregates, classifies and presents UK public procurement notices sourced from the Find a Tender service under the Open Government Licence v3.0, plus EU defence notices from TED on applicable plans. We work hard to keep the data timely and accurately classified, but the official record is always the notice on the source platform — check it before relying on any detail in a bid. DefenceLens does not arrange, broker or facilitate transactions in controlled goods.

Accounts

Keep your credentials confidential and tell us promptly about any unauthorised use. Seat allowances are per named user on your plan; sharing a login to avoid seat limits isn’t permitted.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed as described on the pricing page — annually (with PO and 30-day invoice terms on Capture and Prime) or monthly where offered. Prices exclude VAT. Annual plans run to the end of their term and won’t renew if you tell us before the renewal date; monthly plans can be cancelled any time and end at the close of the billing month.

Acceptable use

  • Don’t resell, republish or systematically redistribute the service’s classified dataset, derived intelligence (such as winner histories and first-win flags) or exports outside your organisation without our written agreement.
  • Don’t scrape the service, probe its security, or use it to build a competing product.
  • CSV exports and the underlying notice data remain subject to the Open Government Licence v3.0 where applicable.

Liability

The service is provided “as is”. We don’t warrant that any notice, value, deadline or classification is error-free, and we accept no liability for bid outcomes or commercial decisions made in reliance on the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Our total liability in any 12-month period is capped at the fees you paid for the service in that period.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be notified to account holders by email in advance. Continued use after the change takes effect is acceptance of the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
